Archives and Social Media Program
The Archives and Social Media Program work to archive and preserve the history, work, and knowledge of the WCC as well as promote the presence and highlight the work of the WCC community on social media platforms such as Instagram.
Collective Liberation Series
The Collective Liberation Series was founded in 2020 as a means to generate discussion around coalition building, community organizing, and activism. The series invites artists and activists in conversation to share their stories and experiences working to bring about more just and liberated futures. The Collective Liberation series focuses on the power of intergenerational storytelling to offer a roadmap and a blueprint for grassroots community organizing as a means to envision a way forward.
Community Engagement Program
Welcome to the Community Engagement program! One of the core focuses of the WCC is to welcome folks in, build community, and promote collective engagement among gender marginalized students in the Stanford Community and our Community Engagement Program exists to do just that! Within the program, we facilitate community engagement with various social events held throughout the year, we welcome new faces into the WCC community each year with our New Student Orientation (NSO) events, and work to facilitate chosen familial bonds through our new Sib Fam program.
Communications Program
The Communications Program manages, updates, and develops content for the WCC’s external presence, including Love Notes From the WCC newsletter emails.
Environmental Justice Program
The Environmental Justice Program creates programming that is designed to explore and imagine an environmentally sustainable future centering Indigenous practices, decolonial narratives, queer, Black, brown, and ability inclusive praxes of resistance.
Feminist Discussions Program
Are you passionate about gender equity and social justice and want a community that you can engage in these issues with through formal and casual conversations? Are you someone who struggles with verbal expression and is looking for a safe, welcoming, and encouraging space to practice voicing your thoughts and opinions on topics and issues you're passionate about? Then you've come to the right place!
Feminist Narratives Program
The Feminist Narratives Program uplifts feminist voices and experiences across backgrounds and disciplines, at Stanford and beyond. Feminist Narrative is a program area of the WCC that was created in 2016-17 to replace our Herstory Month programming. The first thing that our original coordinators created was the Feminist Voices Podcast. In 2017-18 the student coordinators added a Zine component, and the program has evolved every year with new students visions.
Gender, Equity, and Justice Summit
The Stanford Women’s Community Center hosts the annual Gender, Equity, and Justice Summit (formerly known as The Stanford Women’s Leadership Conference). The Gender, Equity, and Justice Summit is a day-long conference that celebrates gender marginalized leaders, activists, artists, and thinkers from around the world and provides Stanford students with actionable tools to enhance their leadership. Over the years, the summit has become an annual event to celebrate leaders who are raising awareness of issues related to equity in their fields and working to make change in their lives and communities.
Graduate Program
The WCC is a space for YOU, too. The Graduate Program supports the feminist graduate community and those interested in gender equity on campus. Throughout the year we offer a range of opportunities to connect with other grad students, explore gender/equity/identity/justice, practice self and community care, and more. We encourage you to sign up on one or both our our mailing lists: Grad Women's Network - GWN and/or the Grad Women of Color - GWOC to hear more about our latest events and programs.
Health & Wellness Program
The Health & Wellness Program supports and encourages student health and well-being. Promoting and centering the physical and mental wellbeing of gender marginalized students at Stanford with a particular focus on the experiences of BIPOC and Queer students.
Intern Program
The NSO & Intern Program welcomes incoming students during New Student Orientation, and spearheads efforts to recruit, train, and engage volunteer interns to support the work of the WCC.
WCC Sib Fam Program
Our new WCC Sib Fam Program is meant to foster community by allowing frosh/sophomores to meet upperclassmen who can offer support and advice throughout their year at Stanford. The Women's Community Center invites all folx who identify as gender marginalized (ex. cis and trans women, non-binary folx, trans men) to be part of the WCC Sibling family (Sib Fam)! As with all programs at the WCC, we aim to center voices that have historically been silenced. We strongly encourage folx of all marginalized identities, and backgrounds to apply.
WCC STEM Program
The Women in STEM Program supports students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in academic and professional pursuits at Stanford and beyond. Supports and helps build the emerging network of women and gender marginalized STEM students, programs, and student groups on campus. In addition, we hope to provide relevant resource material and programming for all Stanford students interested in pursuing a STEM related major and/or career.
